YOU DON’T NEED TO “CHASE THE BAG”

Who really cares how much is in your bank account?

THE WORLD where what you have supersedes who you are is over and done with.

Now, being yourself is greater than any currency imaginable. You’ll stick out everywhere you go, and if you imbue yourself in all your work – from your essays, to your writing, to your social media posts – then the people who love you just for being you will come and find you.

CENTRAL to who you are is your life’s purpose, so the earlier you can find it and do everything you can to achieve it, the more the world will work in your favor.

WHEN YOU’RE NOT sure about your purpose, it can change quickly with the seasons – which is why I advocate creating a general mission statement for your life, and then fill your life with activities that align with that mission statement.

FROM A VERY YOUNG AGE, I asked for wisdom. I wanted God to develop me into one of the wisest men to have ever lived, so I could positively impact countless lives.

Today on my bedside wall, my “Statement of Purpose” reads: “Positively impact over a billion lives.”

I DIDN’T KNOW BACK THEN what that meant in practice, was overcoming obstacle after obstacle, struggle after struggle, until finally the lessons stuck permanently.

IT WAS A PAINFUL PROCESS, but one I wouldn’t trade for the world. It’s important to mentally prepare yourself for the journey ahead. The good news is you already have every‐ thing you need to make it on your journey. It was encoded in your DNA at birth.
